Made in China (with help from Aussies)

Royston has just returned from the China Plas Expo – a massive tradeshow of everything to do with plastic mouldings, tooling and manufacturing held in China in late April this year. “It took us three days to work our way around all of the exhibitors” said Royston. “We have brought home all of the latest innovations and information about new technology relating to plastic injection moulding, processing and tooling. China has exceptional new automation, new technologies and new products.”
“It is a very exciting time for plastics mouldings” said Royston. “There are new plastics that have been developed that can degrade within 10 days of hitting water in a river system. Normal degradable plastics can only break down if they are buried into an industrial compost site. Within a few years these old plastics will go the way of the dinosaur to be replaced by the new degradable plastics. The trend is definitely towards degradable and biodegradable plastics”.
“Many people in the industry are quite worried about the impact China will have on manufacturing. I think we need to embrace what’s on our doorstep and utilise China’s knowledge and skills to the best degree possible.”
“At BC Plastics we know our core value is in taking an idea from a concept through to design of the components, design of the tools to allow manufacturing right through to manufacturing. We are known for helping inventors take what is in their head to a finished product. We will be building our niche further and tapping into the latest technologies from China to help make our clients results even more exciting and profitable.
