61: A leper's thanksgiving
Several months ago, I was preparing for a Sunday sermon on thanksgiving. The Lord brought to my attention the Samaritan leper's thanksgiving recorded in Luke 17 verses 11 to 19. This is a very familiar story among Christians. The story goes like this, there were 10 Samaritan lepers who asked Jesus for mercy. Jesus told them to show themselves to the priest. While going there, they found out that they were healed. Sadly, only one of them came back to thank Jesus.
62: The Story of Easter
Spring is in the air! And chocolate eggs and chocolate bunnies are filling shelves in the shops! But what is Easter really about? For Christians it is time to celebrate the anniversary of the resurrection of Jesus. The name "Easter" comes from the name of a Saxon goddess of spring, "Eostre". She either had a hare's head, or was always seen with a hare by her side. Hares or rabbits represented enviable fertility to the pagans.
63: Change a Life in 20 Minutes: Ministering to the Chronically Ill
Rest Ministries, the largest Christian organization that specifically serves the chronically ill, recently did a survey and asked people to "List some of the programs or resources a church could offer to make it more inviting comfortable" They have provided a sampling of some of the 800+ responses, all of which could be done in 20 minutes or less.
64: religion - krishna consciousness
However, there is a misconception that politicians like Dave Cameron visiting Bhaktivedanta Manor or holding a Diwali festival with 20,000 Hindus attending is good publicity for Krishna consciousness. Such activities support the belief that the Hare Krishnas are part of the Hindu religion. In some countries, it may be beneficial to align with the local Hindus for preaching purposes; this is not so in Britain where there is a large Hindu population and Hinduism is just another minority religion. I appreciate the effort of the present leadership, and their intentions are commendable. Many Hindus are taking to Krsna consciousness, and this is great.
65: hinduism religion - ganesh chaturthi
The sea front at Mumbai, packed with people, is a spectacular sight. People buy them and install them in their houses and worship the idol for one to ten days, after which the idol are taken out ceremoniously, carried in a procession through the streets of the town (especially in Maharashtra) and immersed into the river, sea or well.
66: humor and the zen of laughter
People tend to be visual creatures. We react to what we see. And to a lesser degree, we are auditory. If we hear a sound or loud noise, we may react as well. We react even differently to music. All play upon our emotions.
67: the zen of cartoons
The most sensual and visual animal is known as the human. We react to what we see. And to a lesser degree, we are auditory. Sounds can cause a reaction too, and the combination of them can change our lives. But even one of the other can do the same, if, it changes our perception of things. Especially in the realm of humor.
68: do you love me more than these ?
Those words could be said by lovers in this month of hearts. However such words were not said by one lover to another, rather they were uttered by our Lord Jesus Christ as written in John chapter 21 verses 15 to 17.
69: Finding Peace Through Meditation Is Easy
Meditation is becoming more obvious to people on a worldwide scale. The method of meditation can truly heal your inner mind and bring your entire body at peace. It's not longer ok to just go through your daily activities without meditation. Meditation can actually bring you peace and offer you hope for the future. Sometimes you may look at your life and wonder why you were called to a specific task. In meditation, you will learn to channel your energies in such a way that will bring hope to you and to those that surround you on a daily basis. Mediation actually allows you to feel connected to those that are not around you right now and perhaps those that are in back of you.
70: A Psychics Job Can Get Very Boring At Times
Many psychic people wake up every single day doing the same exact thing. They go to work and then they come home. That kind of life can get boring for anyone. People all over the world are waking up to find that life is no longer boring and never has to be. You have around 100 years to make the best out of your life and to do something with it.
