Our fast food and go go go state-of-mind is go go going us right to the grave. Look at where we shop for groceries and see all the products for sale that tout weight loss miracles. It is beyond ridiculous how advertising for these items can promise quick weight loss -- 10 lbs off in two weeks. We are stilling snarfalling down fast -food and processed foods and the future doesn't look good for our waste lines.
When I was young my family would go out to eat at McDonald's possibly once every several weeks and just for a special occasion. I read a survey about America's eating habits and it said that on average American's eat at a fast food place twice a day. That is horrendous. The movie, "Supersize Me" was about America's gluttony and how the big fast food companies are feeding off us. Belly fat is the foremost reason for death in this country and certainly contributes to Type II diabetes.
We are just not listening because we are not changing our bad habits at all. We are still eating processed foods and too much of them. It has denigrated to an all out war against obesity and big companies. The silver screen and the NY runways have set what they say is the benchmark for beauty and that is skinny minny. What is normal and healthy for a women is not bean pole thin.
We are flooded with weight loss miracles in the market place today. How can you figure out what is right for you? The internet has made some chores simpler. More than ever before information is right at your finger tips. You could be looking for a power shake that has lower calories or comparing Weight Watchers to Nutri Systems.
Slim Fast is one of the most popular for dieters probably because it is so easy to get at the drug stores and grocery stores. Of course there is Weight Watchers and Nutri Systems are both well respected weight loss programs. They have features in their programs that have calorie counters. They also pass out booklets to keep up with your progress as you go along.
These internet tools help you set your goals and let you know what you ate too. Fast food places are in some cases required to post what the calories are for their menu items. You can look up your body mass index or BMI to get your optimum weight.
Regardless of the program you choose you will have to eat right and get up off your butt. If you cannot commit to these two primary facts then you just as well give up. Come on - take the belly fat off and live longer.
