Importance Of A Good Password
Make sure that you use more passwords if you have more than one account. Using a password for your private data, another for a certain account, and another for your email is very important if you want to protect your identity. Using a password like "1password" or something similar is wrong because it can be easily found and your account is not safe. Although many people use them, passwords which contain birthdates, names, and anniversaries are not a very good choice either. Make sure that you make a combination between letters and numbers for your password. A good idea is to take a phrase like "she had 2 chocolates in her pocket" and make a password like "sh2cihp".
It is important that you only use one credit card for every online transaction that you make. If you have more than three credit cards, stick to the one that you know will best work for online transactions. This is to monitor the transactions made with each of your credit cards. Therefore, if your other credit cards have an online transactions you are certain that those are fake.
If you have both debit card, and credit card make sure that you use the latter. Although debit cards have many safe measurements when it comes to buying, credit cards use the fake charges system which is easier to fight. Also make sure that you buy from a trustworthy place or someone you trust recommended it.
You should also check for the company's privacy guidelines. When doing the first purchasing online, ensure to check the privacy guidelines, search for logos from purchasers groups and try to find out if they are a member of the better business bureau. If possible, click the logos to confirm that they are genuine.
You may receive emails that will tell you to update or change your email account, or you may receive emails that concern your credit card; my advice is to ignore and not to open those emails because they are fake.
Although there are many ways that thieves use to steal your private information, using these tips will surely help you protect yourself from the most common attacks.
