The first thing you need to do is stop looking at the newest and nicest models. You want to look for a bike that is strong, light and basic. Any complicated bike you will not know how to maintain properly most likely and why waste time maintaining when you can be out ripping it up? Once you have picked out a reasonable bike, that is now your goal to afford. You will need to figure out what your good at to figure out how you are going to make enough money. I strongly recommend you don't work at Wendys or McDonalds. Not because these jobs are bad or anything like that, its just way easier to make a lot of money working for yourself. Businesses hire workers because they make more money by having the workers. If you want to make a lot of money then, you need to be the business owner.
Thats why I recommend you look into mowing lawns in your neighborhood, shoveling snow in the winter, raking leaves in the fall, babysitting, car washing, things like that. Think creatively here. If its something that you have to do as a chore, its something that other people would probably pay you to do! I used to work doing landscaping work at 7.50 an hour, now I work mowing lawns and average over $30 an hour. It was a little more work to get clients but it is worth it financially. Plus now my schedule is totally flexible leaving a lot more time for riding.
