The wedding day is probably the top memory for people to try and keep alive. Couples will usually hire a professional digital wedding photographer to capture this most important day for them. There is no reason why a DVD can't be made of the occasion to complement the photos!

The hardest thing if you are a friend or relation is trying to take photographs of the wedding day that they will be pleased with. So, if you need some help for a wedding you are to attend and you are going to use a digital camera, then you may find some useful information in this article.

First, if you want to take a picture of the couple or any other guest, make sure that the background is good and the shot will not be too crowded. Don't worry too much if you can't get a full body shot of the couple as you can get around this problem by taking a portrait shot of them which will solve the problem.

Although you don't always think about it at the time, try to ensure those wedding guests wearing spectacles either take them off or provide you with a semi-profile shot. If there's a couple or a group that you wish to include in the picture, you should use the zoom function in to get the ideal image but do not shoot against the light so that dark images appear.

Candid shots are also dramatic and these portraits often reveal more than the quality of the picture itself. In fact, many professionals use the zoom to capture intimate and memorable moments. With digital wedding photography always remember to be ready for the shot as it saves people posing and looks more natural.

Digital cameras rely on two things, memory and power and the last thing you want when you take your shots is to run out of memory or for the batteries to die on you. For 6 mega pixel cameras and up, the absolute bare minimum should be a 1 gigabyte card, preferably 2 gigabytes, and always use the highest resolution your camera can manage if the images are to be printed.

The reason you need to set the cameras resolution to the maximum is because the colors will be richer. Plus, if you want to enlarge the photos, it won't be a problem. This is achieved by saving the images to your computer where you can print them out at your leisure on special photographic paper.

A new generation has grown up not really knowing what film photography is like, so to them digital wedding photography is quite normal.
